Last Friday night, I visited Stardust Video & Coffee for the debut of "Horrible Portraits," the new art exhibit from artist Danny Rhodehamel, brother to local conceptual sculptor Doug Rhodehamel.
The gag behind Danny's collection, which will be on display and on sale at Stardust for the month, is that the likenesses of The cafe's staff are deliberately crude. But that doesn't mean Danny is a crude painter, as you can see in the following carefully-crafted cartoon like paintings that are also part of the show.
